Americans for Prosperity Michigan believes freedom and opportunity are the keys to unleashing prosperity for all. We are a community of thousands of concerned citizens across the state advocating for solutions based on proven principles to tackle the country’s most critical challenges. We have offices and staff strategically located across the state working daily to further the cause of individual freedoms and to reduce the size and scope of government.
About Us
Our work here in Michigan has many facets. We are continually building local groups of activists who engage with their elected officials to effect positive changes in our communities, our state and our country. We regularly hold ‘free to the public’ training events to educate, empower, and encourage citizens to stay engaged in the politics and policy work going on in our state.
We work closely with elected officials to get policies passed which benefit the citizens over corporations, the government, or bureaucracies. Additionally, we work to hold elected officials accountable when their actions prove them to be working against the cause of individual liberty and personal freedom.
Our door and phone canvasing efforts, conducted all year long, allow us the opportunity hear directly from the people on a daily basis. We use that information to help take action and craft policies which are mutually beneficial for all, ensuring each person has the freedom and resources to reach their full potential.
Priorities
Inflation
Fighting back against budget crushing needs like food, gas, and utilities.
State Income Tax
One of the highest state income taxes in the country 4.25%, work toward elimination via stopping wasteful spending.
Education Freedom
Support funding children, not buildings or institutions, to reach success via student centered system.
Decrease Regulation
Advocate for licensing and oversight reform while cutting red tape as Michigan is one of the hardest states to do business in.
Government Transparency
Routinely rank last among the 50 states for publicly available bills, FOIA, late night sessions, appropriation line item from member.
