AFP-MI Praises Michigan State House Vote to Reduce State Income Tax
Lansing, Michigan—Today the Michigan House voted to reduce the state income tax from 4.25 percent to 4.05 percent.
Americans for Prosperity-Michigan (AFP-MI) praised the vote and State Director Tim Golding issued the following statement:
“Thanks to Rep. Kathy Schmaltz (HD-46), tax relief for Michiganders has cleared its first hurdle in Lansing. The cost-of-living crisis remains a top concern for so many families in the Wolverine State, and returning the state income tax rate back to 4.05 percent would be a huge win for Michiganders who are still trying to make ends meet.
“We urge the Michigan Senate to pass this common-sense piece of legislation without delay to get much-needed relief to the state’s overburdened taxpayers.”
